Isolate defined cell populations for downstream research
Biological samples often contain multiple cell populations with distinct characteristics and molecular states. When a specific population is the focus of a study, isolating that population before downstream analysis can reduce cellular heterogeneity and provide a more defined starting material.
Panome Bio uses fluorescence-activated cell sorting (FACS) to isolate selected cell populations based on defined surface or intracellular markers. Sorted populations can then be used for downstream applications including molecular profiling, cell engineering, cell treatment, cell banking and other cell-based research workflows.

- Advanced FACS technology with BD FACSymphony S6
- Rigorous quality control for reliable, reproducible cell populations
- Expert support for downstream applications
- Integrated workflows spanning cell culture, functional assays and molecular profiling
Cell Population Isolation by FACS
FACS enables the separation of heterogeneous cell populations based on fluorescently labeled markers and defined gating strategies. Cells can be selected according to the markers relevant to the research question and collected as enriched populations for downstream use.
- Isolate specific cell populations from heterogeneous samples, including defined cell subsets from blood, tissue, or cell cultures
- Enrich rare or low-abundance populations such as stem/progenitor cells, circulating tumor cells or tumor-infiltrating lymphocytes
- Separate cells based on marker expression to distinguish defined cell states, subsets, or phenotypes
- Sort engineered or reporter-positive cells such as GFP+ or CAR+ populations for comparative downstream studies
- Collect multiple defined populations from the same starting sample for side-by-side molecular or functional analysis
- Prepare defined cell populations for downstream studies, including omics, functional assays, treatment, or cell engineering
FACS Combined with Omics
When molecular differences between cell populations are central to the research question, FACS can be paired with downstream omics profiling. Isolating the population of interest before molecular analysis reduces cellular heterogeneity and can help distinguish cell-specific molecular changes from signals contributed by other populations.
Panome Bio integrates FACS-based cell population isolation with Next-Generation Metabolomics® and other molecular profiling workflows.
