Discovery proteomics allows for a global view of the proteome, enabling the identification and relative quantification of thousands of proteins in your samples. Panome Bio’s discovery proteomics offerings enable researchers to explore cellular processes and disease mechanisms with unprecedented depth and insights.

Panome Bio has two species-agnostic discovery proteomics platforms which include a bio-fluid based offering built with the Seer Proteograph™ XT coupled with the Thermo Fisher Orbitrap Astral mass spectrometer as well as a separate, tissue-based untargeted mass spectrometry-based approach well suited for all sample types. With a more complete view of the proteome, the experts at Panome Bio can perform robust multi-omic analyses, profile unknown peptide variants, and achieve insights that were previously not possible.

Discovery Proteomics with the

Panome Bio utilizes the Seer Proteograph™ XT, a cutting edge proteomic analysis technology to take a deep look at the proteome in biofluids.

What is the Seer Proteograph technology?

The Proteograph XT Assay is a fully automated nanoparticle-based sample preparation technology used to compress the dynamic range of the proteome. The technology allows detection across a broader range of proteins, including low-abundant proteins missed by other approaches, enabling more impactful biomarker discovery. Panome Bio pairs the Seer Proteograph with the Thermo Fisher Orbitrap Astral mass spectrometer to achieve the broadest coverage possible with a high throughput workflow.

What is the Tissue-based
MS Proteomics approach?

Our tissue-based MS Proteomics approach leverages label-free bottom-up untargeted proteomics to identify a wide range of proteins in complex biological samples. This approach offers exceptional sensitivity and specificity, allowing for unbiased assessment of the proteome across species and sample types. Additionally, interrogation of peptide levels results provides insights into differences between proteoforms that may be undetectable from whole-protein analyses, improving biomarker discovery and gaining insights into various biological processes.

Applications

Non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC)

The Seer Proteograph technology was used in a non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) cohort to create a biomarker classifier to distinguish NSCLC subjects from non-cancer controls. 2,499 plasma proteins were identified, with 1,992 present in ≥ 25% of the samples.

Alzheimer’s Disease

The Seer Proteograph can be used to investigate Alzheimer’s disease, classifiers for neurocognitive disorders of
 aging, and identify potential biomarkers and pathways associated with Alzheimer’s disease.

Large Cohort Studies

The Seer workflow allows the detection of thousands of proteins per sample across thousands of individuals. Comprehensive spectral libraries from diverse plasma samples were generated to facilitate the extraction of quantitative information from large-scale studies and to reveal biological insights in large cohort plasma studies.
