Promote Healthy Aging With Metabolomics

In recent years, research on aging in animal models through the use of metabolomics has allowed for better understanding of the metabolic
pathways and molecular mechanisms that drive age-related declines in health. Metabolomics creates the opportunity to identify
potential therapeutic targets for intervention that could help slow or reverse age-related disease.

Metabolites are a fingerprint of phenotype. A metabolic profile can describe how exercise, sex,
environment, BMI, health conditions, diet, race and ethnicity play a role in the aging process.

Commonly observed metabolic changes associated with aging. Metabolites are seen either increasing or decreasing with age. These metabolites can provide insight into an organism’s physiological state, including changes that occur during aging.

Longevity studies with large cohorts can be used to discover links between metabolism and aging. Panome Bio’s next-generation methods can analyze the complex data to provide valuable insights.

Our Next-Generation Metabolomics workflow makes large-scale studies possible. In this study, 2000 patient plasma samples were subjected to an untargeted metabolomics assay. After data analysis, metabolic profiles were shown to reflect geographic location, as seen in the PCA plot.
