Our Chief Scientific Officer

Gary J. Patti, Ph.D., founder of Panome Bio, is a leading researcher in the field of metabolomics and the Michael and Tana Powell Professor at Washington University in St. Louis, where he holds appointments in the department of chemistry and the department of medicine. Dr. Patti’s research focuses on developing and applying both mass spectrometry-based and NMR-based metabolomics technologies to enhance our understanding of human health. Dr. Patti has helped advance the field of metabolomics through the development of gold-standard software tools, commercial benchmarking kits, and NIH led ring trials. Among his notable contributions is pioneering the credentialing technology to demonstrate the high prevalence of noise in metabolomics data, which is the basis for our Next-Generation Metabolomics™️ platform.

In addition to founding Panome Bio, Professor Patti serves as the Senior Director of the Center for Metabolomics and Isotope Tracing, Co-Director of the Metabolic Kinetics Core in the Nutrition Obesity Research Center, Co-Director of the Siteman Cancer Center Metabolomics Core, the Dean’s Fellow of Advancement and Entrepreneurship, Director of Faculty Affairs in the Chemistry Department, and Chair of the data tools section of the NIH Metabolomics Consortium.Professor Patti has been recognized with numerous prestigious awards including the Pew Biomedical Scholars Award, the Alfred P. Sloan Award, the Camille Dreyfus Teacher-Scholar Award, the Mallinckrodt Scholar Award, and the inaugural NIEHS award for revolutionizing, innovative, and visionary research.
