Presenter: Gary J. Patti, Ph.D.
Hosted by: Panome Bio
Metabolic flux is the rate at which a metabolite and its intermediates are transformed through biochemical pathways. Understanding metabolic fluxes provides valuable insights into pathogenesis and treatment development. In this webinar, Dr. Gary J. Patti explains metabolic flux, stable isotope tracer experiments, and how Panome Bio’s next-Generation MetabolomicsTM is changing the way metabolic flux analysis is performed.
Topics Covered:
- What is metabolic flux and why it is relevant for researchers
- Panome Bio’s approach to metabolic flux
- A recent case study using metabolic flux experiments in cancer cells
- Evaluating metabolic fates with metabolic flux
Gary J. Patti, Ph.D., founder of Panome Bio, is a leading researcher in the field of metabolomics and a Professor at Washington University in St. Louis, where he holds appointments in the department of chemistry and the department of medicine. Dr. Patti’s research focuses on developing and applying both mass spectrometry-based and NMR-based metabolomics technologies to enhance our understanding of human health. Dr. Patti has helped advance the field of metabolomics through the development of gold-standard software tools, commercial benchmarking kits, and NIH led ring trials. Among his notable contributions is pioneering the credentialing technology to demonstrate the high prevalence of noise in metabolomics data, which is the basis for our Next-Generation Metabolomics™️ platform.
